Meghan McCain to Trump: I like people who don’t lose Arizona

The late John McCain may have gotten the last world in his rivalry with President Trump — and it was delivered by the war hero’s daughter Meghan McCain.

“Sorry, I had to, the meme is too funny,” Meghan wrote over a photo of her dad with the words “I like people who don’t lose Arizona” typed across it.

That comment parodies remarks made by Trump mocking the former Arizona senator for being a prisoner of war in Vietnam.

“I like people that weren’t captured,” Trump said in 2015, claiming his fellow Republican statesman, who died in 2018, wasn’t respectful toward Trump supporters.

Trump also called the Navy veteran a “loser” because he lost to Barack Obama in the 2008 election.

President Trump is projected to lose the McCains' home state of Arizona, which would make him the second Republican since 1952 to have lost a presidential election in the Grand Canyon State. Meghan’s mom and John’s widow Cindy McCain endorsed Democrat Joe Biden in the 2020 race.

Meghan later posted another photo of her father on Twitter, though, in that one, the maverick politico is standing next to Whoopi Goldberg, who turned 65 on Friday.

“Happy Birthday,” she wrote to her colleague on ABC’s “The View.” “You are a true legend, original icon, queen, role model, friend, mentor and leader of our @TheView cast.”
