A pair of muscled men swiped a standalone ATM from outside a Brooklyn pizzeria early Friday, police said.
The two suspects were spotted dragging the cash machine from outside of Piz-zetta Pizzeria on Livingston St. near Boerum Place in Downtown Brooklyn around 3:30 a.m.
A witness peered out their window when they heard the heavy scraping noise and saw the men throwing the ATM into the back of a white van, polices said.
The van sped off east on Livingston St. towards Smith St., and has not been caught.
Stealing ATMs is becoming a trend among the criminally ambitious, cops say.
On Aug. 14, a pair of crooks tore an ATM from the wall from an Avenue C deli in the East Village, and sped off with it in a white van.
In June, two men were linked to three standalone ATM thefts in the Bronx, where cash machines were taken from a pizzeria, a laundromat and a hotel.
It’s not clear if the two suspects in Friday’s robbery were connected to the earlier capers.
Anyone with information is urged to call NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS.
